Job description

Role overview

This individual contributor position supports the sourcing and development of gifting and accessories products. The role centers on managing one or more product categories for both primary and secondary components, partnering closely with internal teams and external contract manufacturers. It also contributes to product development, cost analysis, and initiatives aimed at improving speed and delivering cost savings.

Category and commodity management

  • Review vendor quotes for new business, negotiate as needed, and share the final award decision.
  • Evaluate requests for price increases and explain the business impact.
  • Oversee tooling-related spending from external suppliers.
  • Work with internal partners to maintain and update standard costs.
  • Compare final costs against target costs and validate alignment.
  • Enter, pull, and analyze information in business IT systems.

Sourcing execution and vendor engagement

  • Help build, implement, and carry out sourcing strategies for the company.
  • Support vendor onboarding and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with supplier performance improvement efforts.
  • Keep vendor profiles and capability information current.
  • Gather vendor information needed for the RFQ process and follow up as required.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the vendor base and supplier capabilities.
  • Build positive working relationships with the global vendor management team and other cross-functional partners.

Key projects

  • Support the product commercialization workflow.
  • Contribute to value engineering project execution and other departmental or central initiatives.
  • Help drive sourcing excellence through standard methodology and process committees.
  • Take ownership of analytical work that supports category strategy.

Talent management and development

  • Create and follow individual development plans, personal performance objectives, quarterly check-ins, and performance reviews as part of the performance management cycle.
  • Seek ongoing learning through tools and activities such as Learning Manager, meetings, job shadowing, vendor visits, and commodity schools.
  • Take part in development discussions with peers and managers.
  • Support team engagement activities identified through the associate opinion survey.
  • Train cross-functional partners and help with onboarding efforts when appropriate.

Qualifications

The company is looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, operations planning, package or supply chain engineering, or strategic sourcing. Experience in manufacturing or consumer goods/retail is preferred. The role requires someone who can manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving environment while staying accurate, calm, organized, and timely. Strong relationship-building skills, a high level of detail orientation, analytical strength, initiative, creativity, and professional judgment are important. Candidates should also be comfortable handling work ethically and confidentially, working with computer systems, making recommendations with a supervisor, and traveling within the U.S. and internationally.

Education

A bachelor's degree is preferred. Relevant internship experience or school leadership experience is an added advantage.
