Role Overview
We seek a Solutions Engineer based in Auckland, New Zealand, with expertise in cloud security, IoT ecosystems, networking, Linux, security surveillance, and access control systems. This role partners with Account Executives to grow Verkada's presence among Fortune 500 clients. You will engage directly with customers and various stakeholders throughout the sales cycle to analyze requirements, resolve technical concerns, design product deployments, and assist sales teams with technical support. The position is remote currently, transitioning to hybrid once Auckland office space is available. Up to 25% travel may be expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical consultant for senior customer stakeholders including CTOs, CISOs, and IT and security leaders.
- Analyze customer technical and business needs to design tailored system solutions leveraging Verkada products.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to evaluate opportunities and develop clear technical specifications.
- Conduct product demonstrations and engaging presentations suitable for diverse audiences.
- Act as Verkada’s internal technical Subject Matter Expert, working cross-functionally with product management, support, marketing, and enablement teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and Layer 2 devices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with effective presentation capabilities.
- Proven attention to detail, account management skills, and reliable follow-through.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
- Experience with IT infrastructure, Linux OS, APIs, Python, or other programming languages is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect are advantageous.
