Role overview

This position is for a cloud-focused solutions architect who can shape and deliver forward-looking technology solutions in a modern, cloud-based insurance environment. The role involves working directly with clients to understand business needs, design tailored architectures, and support delivery in line with agreed roadmaps. The environment is technology-agnostic, with strong emphasis on solutions built around AWS and/or GCP, together with open-source, PaaS, and SaaS components.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with clients to capture requirements and recommend suitable solution architectures.
• Work with product managers to keep client expectations and product design aligned.
• Coordinate with delivery managers to guide the architecture approach during implementation.
• Evaluate multiple design options and choose practical, effective solutions.
• Make sure delivered solutions match customer expectations and internal quality standards.
• Help identify, define, and choose ready-made components that fit client needs.
• Support clients throughout implementation with guidance and technical direction.
• Keep up with market trends and new technologies to improve solution quality over time.

Experience and technical requirements

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in solution architecture and delivery within insurance, covering multiple lines of business.
• Proven background in delivering cloud-based technology solutions in enterprise settings.
• Ability to help shape and communicate a product or enterprise roadmap.
• Strong capability to convert client requirements into concrete actions and solution designs.
• Solid understanding of business architecture models and patterns.
• Track record of creating innovative and practical answers to business challenges.
• Comfortable balancing creative thinking with business constraints.
• Knowledge of designing for highly available and scalable cloud applications.
• Hands-on understanding of both relational and NoSQL database design.
• Experience with API-led and microservices-oriented architectures.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies independently.
• Exposure to low-code platforms is preferred.
• Broader experience across development languages and database engines is an advantage.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts such as SSO, SAML integration, and identity federation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Core competencies

• Comfortable discussing solution strategy and enterprise roadmaps with stakeholders from CxO level to project teams.
• Strong analytical ability to collect and interpret business requirements from corporate clients.
• Capable of preparing solution/value documents and, when needed, business cases for enterprise customers.
• Experience managing relationships with corporate clients.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Understanding of insurance processes across the business and at least two lines of business.
• Consistent, organized approach to work with good planning discipline.
• Architecture certification such as TOGAF or Zachman is a strong plus.
• Cloud certification with broad platform knowledge is also an advantage.
• English must be used at a high level of proficiency as the primary working language.
