Solution Architect - Applied AI

About the Role

phData is looking to hire an Applied AI Solution Architect to join our Agentic Delivery Center in India. In this key position, you will drive the end-to-end design and implementation of production-level agentic AI systems for enterprise clients across various sectors. Your work will involve building intelligent agents that can reason, retrieve information, take action, and seamlessly integrate with core enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, solution design, and complete delivery lifecycle of agentic AI initiatives for enterprise customers.
• Create reusable agentic AI accelerators and reference frameworks consistent with the phData Intelligence Platform.
• Clarify complex, undefined business problems into implementable, production-quality agentic AI designs.
• Design agents emphasizing robustness, scalability, security, monitoring capabilities, and evaluation/guardrail mechanisms.
• Develop standards, tools, and operational methodologies for the India Agentic Delivery Center.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders across projects.
• Oversee code reviews, documentation, testing, and uphold governance and compliance protocols.
• Advise senior client stakeholders on AI roadmaps and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Mentor team members and enrich internal intellectual property, including accelerators, playbooks, and training resources.

Required Qualifications

• At least 10 years total work experience, including 6+ years as an AI, Machine Learning, Software, or Data Engineer with hands-on experience in large language model (LLM) and agentic applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of LLMs, agentic system architectures, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt design, context engineering, and invocation of external tools/functions.
• Practical experience with LLM orchestration frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex; familiarity with multi-agent systems, memory, planning, and protocols such as MCP.
• Expertise in evaluation, guardrail implementation, and observability technologies related to LLM and agent-based systems (including LLMOps and AgentOps).
• Strong programming skills in Python, including API development capabilities.
• Deep experience with cloud-native AI/ML platforms such as AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Azure AI/ML, and Snowflake Cortex.
• Proficient in SQL for writing, debugging, and optimizing sophisticated queries.
• End-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience encompassing design, documentation, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Prior consulting or professional services background, preferably with fixed-bid project exposure.
• Excellent English communication skills, able to effectively present to both technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing reusable AI accelerators or modular code bases deployed across multiple clients.
• Domain knowledge in sectors like life sciences, retail, financial services, or manufacturing.
• Experience collaborating with international or distributed teams across the US, Latin America, and India.
• Contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, or speaking engagements in AI or agent technologies.
• Advanced degrees such as a Master's or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or related disciplines.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
