Job description
Candidate Profile
- Possess 5 to 8 years of proven expertise in manual software testing within the banking and financial services sectors.
- Direct experience testing payment solutions and transaction processing platforms.
Primary Duties
- Conduct manual functional, system integration (SIT), regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Analyze business and functional specifications to develop detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Execute tests, detect and document defects, monitor issue resolution, and verify bug fixes.
- Perform comprehensive end-to-end testing of payment transaction workflows to ensure system reliability and business alignment.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and product owners for clarifications and problem resolution.
- Engage actively in Agile activities such as sprint planning, daily scrums, and retrospective meetings.
- Ensure timely completion of testing activities while maintaining detailed test documentation.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Extensive manual testing expertise with a strong grasp of SDLC and STLC phases.
- Solid understanding of payment infrastructures including SWIFT, ACH, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, UPI, SEPA, and ISO 20022 standards.
- Experience validating APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
- Proficient in SQL queries for backend data validation and testing.
- Familiarity with defect and test management software such as JIRA or HP ALM.
- Knowledgeable in Agile and Scrum development frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Desirable Qualifications
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification is preferred.
- Exposure to test automation using Selenium with Java adds value but is not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices is advantageous.
