Their solutions support patients, clinicians, clinics, and post-care processes by combining intuitive design with AI and machine learning. The aim is to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to proactive, connected care, ensuring ease of use and accessibility for diverse demographics.

Role Overview

The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend and full-stack components within i-Cura's digital health platforms. Core duties include building scalable and robust services, integrating APIs, improving system performance, and maintaining security and reliability. This role requires close collaboration with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to convert requirements into maintainable, high-quality code. Participation in code reviews and efforts to enhance engineering workflows are also expected. This is a contract role located onsite in Melbourne, Victoria, working closely with the local team.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong understanding of computer science principles and the ability to design efficient software solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming with object-oriented techniques and experience in a modern programming language such as Node.js, Java, Python, or similar.
  • Experience in backend web development, including API creation and maintenance, database management, and integration of various services.
  • Familiarity with identity management platforms and security frameworks is essential.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices including version control (e.g., Git), testing, debugging, and continuous integration.
  • Interest or prior experience in digital health, AI, or data-driven platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical team members in an onsite environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
