About the Role
Corteva Agriscience invites passionate individuals to join as Software Developers specializing in AI and Geospatial Technologies. This position involves working on real-life projects that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial data analysis. The role requires a solid base in Python programming and software design, with a keen interest in applying AI/ML techniques to geospatial and agricultural datasets. Responsibilities span the entire development cycle from data handling to model creation, application programming, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain Python-driven software solutions focused on AI, computer vision, GIS, and spatial data applications.
- Conduct processing, analytics, and visualization of various geospatial datasets such as satellite and drone imagery, raster and vector files, shapefiles, GeoJSON, and other spatial formats.
- Design, develop, and incorporate machine learning and deep learning models for tasks including image analysis, object detection, segmentation, classification, and prediction.
- Construct efficient data-processing workflows for handling large volumes of imagery and spatial data.
- Utilize GIS-related libraries and software such as GeoPandas, Rasterio, Shapely, GDAL, and similar technologies.
- Develop APIs and components for integrating AI/ML models into live applications.
- Manage data storage and query operations using SQL and spatial databases.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists and subject matter experts to translate practical problems into robust AI-based software solutions.
- Produce clean, modular, reusable, and well-documented code adhering to sound engineering standards.
- Employ Git or GitLab for code version control and collaborative programming.
- Identify bugs, test, optimize, and enhance extant applications and AI workflows.
- Assist with deploying and maintaining AI and geospatial software in both development and production contexts.
Technologies Involved
Work may include using Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, GeoPandas, Rasterio, Shapely, GDAL, QGIS, PostGIS/SQL, REST APIs, Git/GitLab, Docker, Streamlit, and cloud or compute platforms.
Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Geoinformatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong fundamentals in programming and problem-solving, with autonomous Python coding capabilities.
- Any academic coursework, internship experience, personal projects, or prior work related to AI/ML, Computer Vision, GIS, Remote Sensing, image analysis, or geospatial fields are considered advantageous.
- Open to fresh graduates or professionals with up to two years’ experience enthusiastic about developing practical AI and geospatial software.
- Encouraged to apply if experienced with projects involving satellite or drone imagery, computer vision techniques, object detection, segmentation, GIS-based applications, spatial analysis, or machine learning methodologies.
