About the role
The Financial Crime Compliance team is responsible for creating, maintaining, and implementing ASB’s financial crime compliance programmes. The team also considers the impact of financial crime on customers and provides tooling that helps protect them.
In this senior individual contributor position, you will help shape the design and delivery of complex software solutions across ASB’s platforms. The role combines strong technical depth with solution architecture, platform ownership, and collaboration across squads.
You will work with engineers, product owners, and architects to build scalable, secure, and dependable systems. Your contribution may include developing SDKs, supporting event broker capabilities, and guiding engineers through mentoring and technical leadership. This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving difficult problems, coaching others, and driving technical quality without direct people management responsibility.
What you will do
- Contribute to the design and delivery of complex software solutions across ASB platforms.
- Partner with engineers, product owners, and architects to build secure, scalable, and reliable systems.
- Support platform ownership, solution architecture, and cross-team technical collaboration.
- Develop and maintain software components such as SDKs and event broker-related capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and help raise technical standards across teams.
- Apply engineering practices that improve resilience, performance, and maintainability.
