Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Video Post Production, the Global Social Video Editor within the CALVIN KLEIN CMO Group will focus on creating high-impact, social-first creative assets (both short and longform videos) rapidly for Calvin Klein’s Global Social Media channels. This role requires strict adherence to overarching brand creative guidelines and seasonal direction. A deep understanding of current social media best practices, trends, and platforms is essential, alongside a grasp of style and fashion-focused visual storytelling and formats. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in social-first content video editing, with capabilities in industry-standard color correction, retouching, and motion graphics. Familiarity with social media concepting and capture will be advantageous, as collaboration with producers, art directors, and strategists throughout the editing process is expected.
Primary Responsibilities
- Edit social-first video content for Global Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channels, as well as for cross-channel placements and emerging platforms. This will occur at Calvin Klein’s headquarters, on-location in New York City, and on set.
- Collaborate closely with the in-house Global Social Creative team, including art directors, designers, copywriters, and producers.
- Partner with the Global Social Media strategy team to develop innovative creative assets and narratives that align with brand identity and current social trends, aiming to meet department objectives and KPIs.
- Perform real-time video editing and post-production for social-first assets across various channels during live events and time-sensitive initiatives.
- Package and edit influencer, VIP, and partner content for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, as well as for broader channel placements.
- Continuously research and stay updated on new design trends, creative innovations, social media advancements, and emerging technologies. Pitch new ideas based on cultural trends and past content performance metrics.
- Participate in internal meetings and liaise with external vendors as required.
- Communicate and present creative concepts effectively with all key stakeholders and counterparts.
- Deliver assets in the correct format and by the specified deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in social media content editing, either in-house or at an agency, is required. Prior experience in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle sectors is essential.
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Possess a superior understanding of Calvin Klein's advertising history and its current brand platform.
- Demonstrate exceptional storytelling ability through both short and longform video formats.
- Proficient in video editing, color grading, basic retouching, and motion graphics, utilizing both iPhone and professional equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of the complete Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects.
- Exhibit well-rounded video and design expertise across all major social media channels.
- Maintain a keen eye for color, layout, form, imagery, typography, and composition.
- Exhibit a strong passion for the dynamic landscape of social media and internet culture.
- Possess deep knowledge of and the ability to stay current with all critical Global and Regional Social Media platforms.
- Stay abreast of social creative trends, including unique executions, trending talent, and innovative creative partners (photographers, videographers, animators, CGI artists, etc.).
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment driven by social media and pop culture, working nimbly, quickly, resourcefully, and collaboratively.
- Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter with a proactive approach.
- Maintain a highly creative and positive attitude with a can-do spirit.
- Must be available to work select evenings and weekends as dictated by the marketing and cultural calendar.
