Job description

About Bridgewater

Bridgewater Associates is a leading asset management company serving highly sophisticated institutional investors around the world. Its investing approach combines advanced technology with enduring investment principles to better understand how markets and economies behave.

Established in 1975, Bridgewater is built on a community of independent thinkers committed to excellence. The firm emphasizes openness, transparency, and inclusion as core parts of how it tackles complex questions in investing, management, and workplace culture.

About the Role

Bridgewater is looking for a Social-First Video Editor / Producer to help define how the firm appears across contemporary social platforms. The role blends content creation, storytelling, and distribution, with ownership of high-performing, platform-native video that captures attention, encourages engagement, and strengthens brand relevance.

The person in this role will act as both creator and operator: able to develop concepts quickly, capture footage with lightweight equipment such as an iPhone or small camera setups, and turn around edits at speed, often the same day or the next day, while still maintaining a strong creative standard.

A successful candidate will understand the mechanics of in-feed performance, including hooks, pacing, subtitles, formatting, and the nuances of different platforms. They will be comfortable turning ideas into short-form videos that feel polished, timely, and tailored for distribution.

This position works closely with the Brand, Communications, and Content teams to convert ideas into video outputs that are culturally relevant, fast-moving, and optimized for reach.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and edit short-form videos designed specifically for social channels, with emphasis on retention and engagement.
  • Handle quick-turn edits, often producing final content on same-day or next-day timelines.
  • Film interviews, behind-the-scenes pieces, and reactive content using lightweight production tools.
  • Use strong storytelling, structure, pacing, and opening hooks to improve in-feed performance.
  • Integrate subtitles, graphics, and motion thoughtfully to improve accessibility and viewer interest.
  • Reformat content to fit channel-specific needs such as vertical, square, or horizontal layouts and varied length limits.
  • Work with content and strategy partners to transform concepts into social-first executions.
  • Experiment with formats and styles, then refine output based on performance insights.
  • Track trends, editing approaches, and new platform features, bringing fresh ideas into the process.
  • Make sure every piece of content reflects Bridgewater’s brand standards, voice, and external messaging.

Who You Are

  • You are deeply focused on social storytelling and understand how content must compete for attention in a feed.
  • You have a strong feel for hooks, pacing, retention behavior, and what keeps viewers watching.
  • You can independently shoot strong video with mobile or lightweight setups such as an iPhone, mirrorless camera, or compact rig.
  • You are comfortable working at speed and delivering polished edits on very tight timelines.
  • You understand how to optimize for different platforms, including aspect ratios, captions, thumbnails, trends, and technical specs across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and YouTube.
  • You use subtitles, graphics, and motion with purpose to improve clarity and engagement.
  • You like testing, learning, and improving formats based on what the data shows.
  • You balance creative judgment with performance metrics and continuously raise the quality of output.
  • You can thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities change and deadlines are tight.
  • You are a collaborative partner who can turn abstract ideas into finished, high-quality content.
