About Venture Media

Venture Media partners with brands to craft campaigns that challenge conventions and differentiate in the market. Their approach blends strategic content marketing, comprehensive content creation spanning the entire funnel, and growth tactics for podcasts and social media aimed at delivering tangible business results rather than superficial metrics. Leveraging insights from marketing, psychology, and technology, they design content that is both creatively inspired and data-driven. The work environment is energetic, values experimentation, strategy clarity, and outcome-focused results.

Role Overview

The Social Media Video Editor operates remotely on a full-time basis, tasked with producing both short and long form videos tailored for platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Typical duties involve editing raw video footage, adjusting formats and aspect ratios to suit platform requirements, integrating motion graphics and textual elements, as well as applying color grading and sound refinement to comply with brand standards. Collaboration with content strategists and creators is key to transform scripts, talking points, and campaign goals into compelling video stories. Responsibilities also cover managing file organization, version control, export configurations, and contributing creative input aimed at enhancing storytelling, hooks, and audience engagement based on performance analytics. Consistent communication with the wider team and punctual delivery of content assets are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form videos such as Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn clips derived from podcasts and interviews, representing the primary duty.
  • Review full episodes or footage to select the most promising excerpts for editing.
  • Create engaging hooks by writing and designing the initial three seconds through text, pacing, sound, and visuals to maximize viewer retention.
  • Investigate trending content on each platform and within client niches, applying relevant techniques and proactively suggesting ideas.
  • Adapt video style and tone to align with each client’s branding, recognizing differences in industries such as cardiology versus trading platforms.
  • Edit long-form podcast content for YouTube and audio formats, performing basic audio balancing and adding subtle graphics.
  • Analyze video performance metrics to inform and improve future edits.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks for captions, spelling, aspect ratios, and safe zones prior to content delivery, correcting errors proactively.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience editing short-form social media videos, supported by a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • Strong innate understanding of content virality beyond mere technical proficiency.
  • Expertise in storytelling, pacing, and evoking emotional connection through video.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of platform-specific trends and performance drivers.
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; skills in After Effects are advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver timely work with reliable communication regarding workload capacity.
  • Receptive to direct feedback and capable of revising work collaboratively without issues.
  • Excellent written English and ease working within an asynchronous remote team setup.
  • Availability to overlap with US Pacific Time hours for real-time communication.
  • Willingness to adhere to stringent approval procedures, especially for medical client content.
  • Preferably residing in the United States.

Desirable Additional Skills

  • Experience with motion graphics, meme-style editing, and creative overlay work.
  • Background in producing cinematic trailers or brand films.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Frame.io and ClickUp.
  • Previous work with healthcare, finance, or B2B brand editing.

Important Notes

  • This position is not suited for those who require prescriptive guidance on every decision, avoid receiving feedback, or disengage near deadlines.
  • Applicants must be independent editors personally responsible for their work; agency or studio applications will not be considered.
  • A portfolio link is mandatory for application review; applications lacking this will not be evaluated.
