Job description

About the Role

At Global Skilling, our mission is to enable individuals and organizations worldwide to achieve more through accessible and inclusive learning. As AI and new technologies transform the labor market, the importance of culturally relevant and engaging skilling has grown. At Microsoft Learn, we are transforming the way people acquire future-ready skills by delivering engaging content and community experiences that meet learners where they are via impactful social media connections.

We seek a Social Media Manager to give voice to Microsoft Learn’s vision on social platforms through compelling writing, video-focused storytelling, and audience-driven creative strategy. Collaborating with leadership, creators, and production teams, you will craft recurring video series, script concise short-form videos, and create social media moments that resonate globally, making skill-building appealing and relevant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit platform-specific social media copy for LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, X, and Threads that is clear, timely, targeted, and aligned with Microsoft Learn’s tone.
  • Collaborate on developing video-first social series strategies, including formats, storytelling approaches, scripts, and creative direction tailored to each platform.
  • Write scripts for short-form video content by working alongside subject matter experts and production teams to highlight skill-building stories and learner insights in engaging, scrollable formats.
  • Lead social media campaigns focused on specific audiences such as business professionals, students, IT specialists, developers, and educators through innovative creative methods.
  • Co-manage social media strategies for major events, defining platform plans, content themes, video opportunities, real-time engagement, and post-event narratives.
  • Monitor evolving trends and community discussions to guide content planning and spark relevant conversations.
  • Maintain and enhance social engagement protocols and frameworks to ensure consistency across channels.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive online community environment by moderating interactions and guiding conversations.
  • Embody Microsoft’s culture of respect, integrity, and accountability to support an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

  • Required: Either a Master’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related fields with at least one year’s experience in content creation or copywriting, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional background.
  • Preferred: Over one year crafting social media content tailored to platforms like TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube; more than two years in social media management, content strategy, or community moderation.
  • Strong copywriting skills with adaptability of tone and voice across different platforms and formats.
  • Proven experience scripting short-form, storytelling-driven videos for social media.
  • Competence in managing and moderating social communities with empathy and consistency.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools such as Sprinklr, Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Experience reviewing agency deliverables and providing constructive feedback.
  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and has a keen sense of social media trends that align with brand values.
  • Background or interest in technology, education, or communities focused on learners and developers is advantageous.
