Job description
Role Overview
Yaltopia Tech is seeking a creative, metrics-focused Social Media Manager to strengthen and grow its brand across major social platforms. This position owns the social presence end to end, covering content creation, paid promotions, audience engagement, and performance reporting. The work setup is mostly remote, with regular in-person presence required in Addis Ababa for weekly team meetings and other planned sessions.
The company is looking for someone whose strongest skill is copywriting, followed by paid media expertise, and who is comfortable being responsive when needed beyond normal business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and run social media plans across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other relevant channels.
- Produce persuasive, brand-aligned writing for posts, advertisements, stories, and captions; excellent copywriting is essential for this position.
- Set up, manage, and improve paid advertising campaigns on Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Google Ads.
- Keep a close watch on social channels and interact with the community in real time, including outside standard working hours, with 24/7 responsiveness expected.
- Work closely with design, content, and product teams to maintain a unified brand voice and message.
- Join weekly face-to-face meetings and other scheduled onsite sessions in Addis Ababa.
- Measure performance using KPIs such as reach, engagement, CTR, and ROAS, then share regular reports with practical recommendations.
- Follow changes in platform algorithms, trends, and best practices to keep campaigns effective.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of practical experience handling social media for a brand or agency.
- Clear proof of strong copywriting ability, such as writing samples or a portfolio link.
- Experience creating, monitoring, and optimizing paid campaigns using Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Google Ads.
- Readiness to stay available around the clock and respond quickly to urgent community or campaign issues.
- Must be based in Addis Ababa or able to travel there for weekly and occasional in-person meetings.
- Familiarity with scheduling and analytics platforms such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategy based on findings.
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Amharic is an added advantage.
Additional Information
This role is structured as a hybrid position: most work can be done remotely, but the selected candidate must attend scheduled in-person sessions in Addis Ababa.
The job also carries an expectation of availability beyond regular business hours, including urgent responses whenever required.
