Job description

About Later

Later is an AI-first influencer marketing company that helps brands run stronger campaigns with more confidence. By combining creator relationships, proprietary data, and expert support, the company helps teams move from guesswork to informed decisions across awareness, engagement, and revenue.

Its platform is powered by more than ten years of data, including billions of social interactions and impressions, along with over $2.4B in verified influencer-led purchases. Later works with major brands such as Nike, Wayfair, Unilever, and Southwest Airlines.

Role overview

Later is hiring a Social Media Manager to help shape and grow its brand presence across the social channels where it connects with brands and creators. This position suits someone who can balance strategy, publishing, on-camera content creation, and community engagement. The role partners closely with another social media manager and reports to the Senior Content Marketing Manager.

You will play a visible role in the marketing team, contributing creative ideas, platform expertise, and day-to-day execution to keep Later's owned channels active, relevant, and engaging.

Key responsibilities

This role combines planning, content production, audience engagement, reporting, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Manage and help shape the social content calendar for priority channels such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube, keeping the posting rhythm steady and aligned with larger campaigns.
  • Work with the other social media manager to build monthly and quarterly themes that support Later's broader brand story.
  • Spot emerging trends, sounds, formats, and cultural topics early and turn them into platform-native content ideas that still reflect Later's voice.
  • Build channel-specific strategies based on audience behavior, algorithm patterns, and format preferences.
  • Coordinate with Content, Creative, and Growth Marketing to sync social output with launches, blog priorities, and product updates.
  • Plan, produce, and appear in short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, acting as a confident on-camera representative of the brand.
  • Write social captions, post copy, and video scripts that sound informed, confident, and approachable.
  • Partner with Creative on graphics, motion, and video assets while protecting brand consistency.
  • Create a wide mix of formats, including educational carousels, product explainers, trend-based clips, and community highlight content.
  • Bring a creator mindset to work, producing content designed to earn attention naturally rather than simply broadcast messages.
  • Track comments, messages, and mentions, and respond in ways that build authentic audience relationships.
  • Engage with creators, customers, and advocates to strengthen Later's position in the creator economy and social media space.
  • Collect recurring audience questions, sentiment, and feedback from community interactions and use those insights to guide messaging and content planning.
  • Measure and report on performance across channels, turning social data into recommendations that improve content and audience growth.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to understand how organic social supports traffic, awareness, and pipeline.
  • Use Later's own tools for scheduling, analytics, and link-in-bio tracking, building hands-on product knowledge along the way.
  • Test new posting cadences, copy styles, formats, and creative approaches, then share the results with the wider marketing team.
  • Amplify blog articles, research, and thought-leadership pieces through social repurposing with the Content team.
  • Collaborate with Influencer and Creator teams on co-created content, ambassador work, and creator-led social moments.
  • Work with Customer Marketing to spotlight customer stories, videos, and awards across Later's channels.

What success looks like

  • Within 60 days, you understand Later's social voice, current content style, and platform-specific audience behavior, and you are already contributing to the calendar.
  • By 90 days, you have created on-camera content that resonates with the audience and generates clear engagement or reach.
  • By six months, the brand's social channels show a higher creative standard and measurable gains in engagement, follower growth, or video performance on at least two platforms.
  • Within a year, you are a trusted collaborator across marketing, consistently producing content that supports campaigns, launches, and brand-building priorities.
  • Your community management work improves audience sentiment and response quality, while your cross-functional partnerships help create more integrated campaigns.

What we're looking for

Later encourages applicants who meet some or all of the following profile:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of practical social media management experience, ideally in-house or at a content-focused agency.
  • Comfort appearing on camera, with examples of short-form video work you have personally made or featured in.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, including how each platform's algorithm, formats, and audience behavior differ.
  • Strong copywriting ability with the flexibility to adapt tone and structure for different channels while keeping the brand voice consistent.
  • Experience running social content calendars and publishing workflows in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Confidence using social analytics tools and translating performance data into creative choices.
  • A collaborative approach and experience working with creative, content, and marketing teams.
  • Strong interest in the creator economy, social trends, and influencer marketing.
  • Hands-on experience with social media management platforms for scheduling, analytics, and community management.
  • Bonus exposure to Later's platform, link-in-bio tools, creator marketplaces, or influencer marketing software.

How Later works

  • Focus on impact by delivering high-value work, meeting deadlines, and staying adaptable.
  • Think strategically and stay customer-focused, connecting daily decisions to long-term growth.
  • Stay curious and growth-minded by asking thoughtful questions and applying learning quickly.
  • Be collaborative and resilient, working well through change and helping remove roadblocks.
  • Act with accountability and honesty, taking ownership and using direct feedback constructively.
  • Show emotional intelligence by building trust, supporting inclusion, and working with empathy and integrity.

Compensation and benefits

Later uses a market-based, data-driven compensation approach and reviews pay twice a year using performance and market factors. Salary ranges are benchmarked to the location of the role, and compensation may be salary only or structured as total cash compensation depending on the position. Final pay can vary based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Permanent employees are eligible for a range of benefits as part of their total compensation package.

The posted salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000.

Work location

Later has offices in Boston, Vancouver (BC), Chicago, and Vancouver (WA). For selected roles, fully remote hiring is available. This position is open to remote candidates.

Diversity, inclusion, and accessibility

Later follows an inclusion-first approach and aims to build teams for culture add rather than culture fit. The company supports unbiased hiring, pay, and promotion practices to help build a more equitable workplace.

It is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability, or age. Candidates who need accommodations during the recruitment process are encouraged to request support.
