Job description

About the Role

YouTrip Australia is hiring a practical, hands-on Social Media Executive to help expand its presence across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Reddit, and travel-oriented online communities. The role is strongly focused on execution and content production, while also giving exposure to publishing, community engagement, trend monitoring, and performance review.

You will help shape how YouTrip appears online by producing relatable, authentic content, participating in travel conversations in a natural way, and supporting the goal of making YouTrip one of the most discussed no-fee travel cards in Australia.

Your Mission

Build brand awareness, trust, and relevance for YouTrip through engaging social content and genuine community interaction. The tone should feel human and never overly corporate or sales-driven.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation and Production

  • Plan, film, and edit short-form, platform-native content for Instagram Reels, Stories, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Produce content around travel tips, budgeting advice, card demonstrations, day-in-the-life stories, cultural moments, and real traveller experiences.
  • Write scripts, opening hooks, captions, and visual directions that match the style of each channel.
  • Capture straightforward product moments such as tap-to-pay use, foreign exchange comparisons, ATM withdrawals, and app demonstrations.

Publishing and Channel Support

  • Assist with regular posting across YouTrip’s social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Help with scheduling, captions, hashtag selection, and light community responses.
  • Keep content timely, culturally relevant, and aligned with a friendly, direct brand voice.
  • Reuse content across formats and channels, including organic posts, stories, and light paid use.

Design and Creative Support

  • Create basic design elements such as thumbnails, subtitles, overlays, and simple visual layouts.
  • Preserve visual consistency while keeping the output social-first and not overly polished.
  • Adjust creative quickly in response to performance data and platform best practices.

Trends, Insights and Experimentation

  • Monitor social and creator trends and adapt them for travel and money-saving content.
  • Experiment with new formats, hooks, and angles, then share the learnings with the marketing team.
  • Review core performance metrics such as views, engagement, and saves to guide improvements.

Community and UGC Support

  • Help identify and coordinate authentic user-generated content from creators and the wider community.
  • Support the preparation of creator briefs and content guidelines where required.
  • With direction, help distribute content into relevant travel communities, forums, and subcultures.

About You

  • You have at least 1 to 2 years of experience creating social or UGC-style content, whether for a brand, as a freelancer, or for your own channels.
  • You are comfortable appearing on camera or filming others in a natural creator-style format.
  • You bring strong short-form video editing ability using tools such as CapCut, VN, Premiere, or similar software.
  • You have a good eye for design and are comfortable using Canva, Figma, or Adobe tools.
  • You understand what appeals to travel audiences and young professionals.
  • You are quick, curious, and comfortable testing ideas, learning fast, and refining work based on feedback.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with YouTube optimisation, basic analytics, paid creative, or creator coordination.
  • An interest in travel, budgeting hacks, or fintech products.
  • Mandarin language skills are a bonus, but not a requirement.

Location

This position is based onsite in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
