Job description
Role overview
This is a standout in-house opportunity for a social media professional who can blend strategic thinking with hands-on content delivery. The position sits at the center of brand storytelling for one of Australia's most recognised insurance brands, with exposure to high-profile sports partnerships such as the FIFA World Cup and the upcoming Olympics.
You will take full ownership of the consumer social portfolio, including brand social channels, while also overseeing thought leadership content for a senior executive. The role involves close collaboration with a top-tier agency to brief and shape content for sports partnerships, while also staying close to trends and producing brand-level content aligned to key pillars.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the social content calendar and ensure activity supports business priorities, campaign plans, and relevant cultural moments.
- Create and publish social content across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube, including filming and editing light, native-style content yourself as well as directing agency output.
- Lead campaign execution against agreed schedules and budgets, and provide monthly performance updates with practical recommendations based on data.
- Assist with crisis communications and issue escalation in accordance with brand and regulatory requirements.
- Develop thought leadership content for a senior C-suite stakeholder.
- Use AI tools each day for content development, scripting, and generating insights.
Candidate profile
The employer is seeking someone with 5 to 10 years of experience in a dedicated social media role, either working in-house or at Account Director level within an agency. The right person should be comfortable creating content directly rather than only managing others, and should be confident engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting ideas clearly.
Experience creating content for TikTok and other major social platforms is important, along with prior exposure to a larger, listed, or corporate organisation. Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, social analytics, and community management tools is also expected.
Additional information
This role offers a salary of $170k+ and comes with a clear pathway toward Senior Manager level, along with genuine ownership of a significant portfolio. The business has been recognised as one of Australia's Best Workplaces 2025. AI is deeply embedded across the team, with strong investment in innovation. The arrangement includes 50% in-office attendance per month.
