Job description

About Fable England

Fable England is a British fashion accessories label known for beautifully made hand-painted jewellery, handbags, scarves and sleepwear. The brand draws inspiration from classic British literature and brings each collection to life through playful storytelling, prints and embroidery. Its designs blend nature, charm and timeless imagery to create a whimsical take on familiar tales.

The company’s purpose is to bring joy while caring for the world we live in. Positivity and kindness are woven into every tale and charm, and these values are reflected across the brand’s jewellery, vegan leather bags, accessories and prints.

Role Overview

This is a highly practical role for a person who naturally thinks in content and spends a lot of time on social platforms. You will take ownership of Fable England’s social presence and help push it forward through a mix of content production, planning and brand stewardship. Reporting to the Brand Marketing Director, you will be part of the brand’s core team during an important period of growth and will help shape the way the company appears across digital channels.

You will partner closely with the Digital and Product teams, with room to contribute creatively while staying within a clear brand identity. Everything shared publicly should feel unmistakably Fable in how it looks, sounds and feels.

Social Media Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the daily running of the social media channels, especially Instagram and TikTok.
  • Create and maintain content calendars that support launches, campaigns and the wider brand schedule.
  • Work with the Brand Marketing Director to develop a refreshed social strategy for the next stage of growth.
  • Build a well-balanced mix of product-led and brand-led content that aligns with the defined content pillars.
  • Run monthly test-and-learn activity to keep pace with platform shifts and audience behaviour.
  • Keep track of algorithm updates and adjust the content approach proactively.
  • Monitor brand perception, competitor movement and wider category conversations.

Content Creation & Management

  • Develop, commission and publish high-quality content for Instagram, TikTok, Substack and the website.
  • Help plan and deliver content shoots, both in-house and with outside partners.
  • Create and edit short-form video, Reels and visual assets to a consistent brand standard.
  • Write and oversee copy that stays on-brand across social, email and other relevant touchpoints.
  • Build and manage a network of external content creators, from briefing through to final approval.
  • Shape the brand-led and editorial email content plan and produce the required creative assets.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work with the Product and Digital teams to support trading priorities through content.
  • Track performance, engagement and content effectiveness across all channels.
  • Use insights to improve relevance, reach and commercial impact.
  • Prepare regular weekly and monthly reports with clear commentary on performance.

Skills & Experience

  • Background in content creation, planning and brand-focused social media management.
  • Experience in a lifestyle, fashion or accessories business.
  • Strong visual judgment, natural storytelling ability and excellent written communication.
  • Confidence with shooting, editing and publishing content, including being comfortable appearing in content yourself.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating across functions.
  • Experience briefing and managing freelance creators or UGC contributors.
  • Good awareness of evolving platform behaviour and social trends.

What This Role Is

  • A hands-on social content role with genuine creative ownership.
  • A position where you are accountable for output quality and brand standards.
  • A chance to influence the brand at an early and formative stage of growth.
  • Not a Creative Director role.
  • Not a pure performance marketing or growth-focused position.
  • Not a large-team management role.

Why Join Fable England

  • Join a distinctive, design-led British brand with a loyal and expanding audience.
  • Enjoy significant creative ownership and help shape how the brand presents itself.
  • Work with a supportive, collaborative team that values craftsmanship.
  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements.
  • Access a strong career growth opportunity within a fast-moving brand.

Applicants should share a CV, a portfolio or examples of relevant content and social media work, plus links to social accounts or campaigns they have managed. The subject line for the application email should be “Social & Content Manager – Fable England”.
