Velvet Hammer is building a wellness brand with a fantasy-inspired identity. The company creates functional beverage powders that turn everyday routines into a more immersive, magical experience. Drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, the brand blends science-backed wellness with playful, cinematic storytelling. It is an early-stage, well-funded direct-to-consumer company supported by experienced industry backers.

Role Overview

The company is hiring a Social Media Manager and Content Creator who can shape a brand universe, not just schedule posts. This person should think in narrative arcs, understand how product marketing connects with culture, and know how to turn a brand’s personality into content that captures attention. The role also serves as the on-camera face of the brand and a central voice in how the company looks, sounds, and feels, with direct access to the founder and strong creative ownership.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, shoot, and edit daily TikTok and Instagram content from a home-based production setup.
  • Bring the Velvet Hammer world to life through immersive rituals, fantasy-led storytelling, and content that mixes wellness with escapism.
  • Create bold, original work that stands apart from generic social content.
  • Respond quickly to trends while keeping the brand identity consistent.
  • Work closely with the founder and internal team on campaign productions and brand events.
  • Manage the content calendar around cultural moments, campaign priorities, and partner collaborations.
  • Use Slack, Notion, and Google Drive to share briefs and edit reviews before publishing.
  • Monitor performance data and key metrics, then adjust the strategy based on what is driving engagement.
  • Meet weekly with growth marketing to identify organic posts that should be scaled through paid media.
  • Lead weekly check-ins with the team to review results and preview upcoming content.
  • Support and help manage a handpicked creator roster.
  • Coach creators on formats, hooks, and storytelling approaches that are more likely to convert.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success creating social content that has gone viral or generated strong engagement.
  • Solid understanding of brand and product marketing, with the ability to create desire as well as awareness.
  • Comfort and confidence appearing on camera as a brand representative.
  • Ability to work quickly and produce concept-to-post content on the same day when trends emerge.
  • Hands-on editing skills in CapCut, Premiere, or Final Cut.
  • Access to a basic filming setup, such as a phone or camera, ring light, and tripod.
  • Availability to work from Los Angeles or nearby for weekly in-person collaboration.

Compensation

Annual pay is listed at $95,000 to $120,000, inclusive of performance bonus, plus benefits.
