Job description
About the Role
Join Chuffed.org, a global crowdfunding platform supporting social justice efforts worldwide since 2013. Our campaigns have gathered over $350 million across 60,000 initiatives in 23 countries with 3.5 million donors. We're seeking a Social Media Content Creator to produce and edit engaging short-form videos and photo content for platforms like Instagram.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling short-form vertical video reels by editing raw footage, voiceover recording, pacing, adding captions, sound, and visual effects.
- Design high-quality carousel posts for feed publishing.
- Maintain a consistent output of approximately three pieces of content weekly, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
- Work independently to manage workflow from brief or raw materials, ensuring brand alignment and quality control prior to delivery.
- Apply strong editing skills and creative judgement to produce visually appealing, scroll-stopping content.
- Remain adaptable to shifting priorities and rapid-turnaround projects prompted by urgent campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- Proven proficiency in video editing software such as CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or comparable tools, with the ability to deliver fast, polished short videos.
- Keen visual sensibility to create authentic, current, platform-native photographs and videos.
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks independently with minimal guidance, including thorough self-review.
- Dependable work habits with consistent adherence to deadlines and proactive communication regarding delays.
- Openness to feedback and willingness to revise work constructively.
- Alignment with Chuffed.org’s mission; enthusiasm for contributing creative skills to social justice storytelling, though activism experience is not mandatory.
Compensation and Work Conditions
- The role offers $40-50 CAD per hour, contingent on experience.
- Expected work is around 10-15 hours weekly on a freelance, hourly contract basis lasting three months.
- Fully remote position available to those located anywhere within Canada, offering schedule flexibility as long as deadlines are met.
- Engage in meaningful work supporting frontline organizers and justice movements worldwide.
- Be part of an inclusive, diverse team that encourages applicants across all backgrounds and experiences.
Additional Notes
Applicants should include a portfolio or minimum two samples of previous work with their applications.
Individuals who may not meet every qualification but possess strong content creation skills and enthusiasm for the cause are encouraged to apply.
