Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is with a client of HELLO Recruitment. The role is based in Dallas, TX, and applicants should already be in Dallas or be open to relocating there.
You will join a creative team in a hands-on, end-to-end social content role covering ideation, art direction, shooting, and editing for Instagram and TikTok. The position supports two closely connected brands in the same family: a long-established home and lifestyle brand and a newer sister label. The ideal candidate is both a strong conceptual thinker and a practical creator who can take an idea from initial concept through to final delivery.
The role sits within senior brand marketing leadership for both brands and also includes oversight of a Social Video Editor who supports post-production and broader content delivery.
The right person will bring a confident point of view on social content, a strong eye for visual storytelling in the home and lifestyle category, and the ability to produce content both in-studio and on location.
What you will do
- Develop and deliver social-first content from start to finish, including concepting, art direction, filming, and editing for Instagram and TikTok across both brands.
- Translate brand narratives into content that captures attention, including trend-led Reels and TikToks, behind-the-scenes clips, product-focused pieces, and lifestyle storytelling.
- Run shoots in the internal creative studio as well as on location, managing styling, lighting, and direction of on-camera talent when needed.
- Guide a Social Video Editor by assigning post-production tasks, preparing clear creative briefs, reviewing work, and ensuring the final output stays consistent with both brand identities.
- Edit video and photo assets with a strong understanding of pacing, audio design, and platform-appropriate style.
- Stay ahead of social trends, content formats, and cultural moments, proactively bringing fresh ideas forward.
- Collaborate closely with brand marketing leadership, the studio manager, the social team, and other partners to keep direction, priorities, and timing aligned.
- Maintain clear, timely communication across teams regarding content requests, schedules, and delivery expectations.
- Track active work in the team’s project management system and keep task status updated.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and adaptability is important.
- Travel for location shoots about 25% of the time.
What you bring
- A distinctive creative style and a proven record of creating social content that performs.
- Deep knowledge of Instagram and TikTok, including what resonates now and how the platforms are evolving.
- Strong technical capability across the content workflow, including shooting stills and video, lighting, capturing audio, and editing.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom, plus CapCut or a similar mobile-first editing tool. Experience with Capture One is an added advantage.
- Well-developed art direction instincts, including styling, composition, and quick decision-making during shoots.
- Comfort working both in front of and behind the camera when needed.
- Experience managing or directing a direct report and providing feedback that improves the quality of work.
- Understanding of how content supports social channels, e-commerce, and broader marketing efforts.
- Ability to handle multiple brands, projects, and deadlines at the same time.
- A collaborative, accountable, low-ego attitude with openness to feedback and a supportive mindset.
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong time-management habits.
- Self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience creating social-first content for a brand, agency, or personal creator business, with measurable results to show.
- A portfolio that demonstrates range in concept development, shooting, and editing for social content.
- This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, five days per week.
- Candidates who live in or near Dallas, TX are strongly preferred.
What’s on offer
- Health, dental, and vision coverage.
- Paid parental leave.
- 401(k) plan with employer match.
- A merit-based culture with genuine opportunities for advancement.
- A stable, growing, family-owned business that values and supports its employees.
Additional information
This role reports into senior brand marketing leadership and includes responsibility for overseeing a Social Video Editor. The work environment is fast-moving and reactive, so flexibility and strong communication are important. Travel is expected for about one quarter of the work time for on-location productions.
