Assignment overview
This is a short online volunteering assignment with WFP Armenia. It is a task-based, non-contractual remote opportunity for one volunteer to support social media content creation over 4 weeks, with a possible extension up to 12 weeks. The role is fully online and is centered on producing communications materials for WFP Armenia’s social channels.
About the host entity
WFP Armenia has been working in the country since 1994, initially responding to emergency needs and later expanding into resilience, recovery, food systems, school meals, social protection, and disaster risk reduction. Its upcoming 2026–2030 Country Strategic Plan places strong emphasis on building national capacity, transferring tools and knowledge to government counterparts, and strengthening preparedness for emergencies.
Assignment purpose
The volunteer will work alongside the programme unit and partnership team to help grow WFP Armenia’s social media presence, improve engagement, and support communication around food security, nutrition, healthy eating, and school meals.
Key deliverables
- Create at least 20 social media posts in infographic format on topics such as food security, nutrition, healthy eating habits, and school meals.
- Produce explainer-style infographics and short-form video content for Instagram and related platforms using material provided by WFP.
- Prepare four short videos from existing raw footage supplied by WFP.
- Share recommendations for social media content ideas for the following three months.
- Help support efforts to increase followers for WFP Armenia’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
- Research relevant content on food security, nutrition, and agriculture and suggest ideas to the communications team.
- Support online engagement with influencers to help extend campaign reach.
- Maintain consistency with WFP branding in messages and visuals.
- Revise and adjust content based on feedback.
Working arrangement
The assignment is online and expected to require 11 to 15 hours per week. The host entity is WFP ARM, and the task type is communication and social media.
Requirements
- Completion of at least a high school diploma.
- Strong command of English, with fluent written and spoken ability.
- Ability to create multimedia and social media content suitable for professional communications.
- Research skills to gather relevant information on food security, nutrition, agriculture, and related themes.
- Capacity to follow brand guidelines and work from feedback.
- Interest in digital communications, social media engagement, and public-interest messaging.
Eligibility
Applicants should be able to work in English at a fluent level and be willing to contribute remotely on a volunteer basis. This opportunity is open to qualified individuals who can support the assignment as an online volunteer.
