Role Summary
This is a three-month summer placement based in London for someone at the beginning of their social media career. The role offers practical, hands-on exposure to Instagram and TikTok in a premium beauty retail environment. You will support the daily running of the brand’s social channels, helping to plan, produce, and publish content that grows reach, engagement, and community. The position reports to the Social Media Manager and sits within the Marketing department’s Content Marketing team.
Department Overview
The Marketing department focuses on creating high-quality campaigns that help grow the customer base, build brand awareness, attract new audiences, and strengthen engagement with existing customers. The team is made up of four key areas: brand marketing, brand partnership marketing, content, and paid media.
Key Duties
- Assist with the daily planning, execution, and posting of organic content on Instagram and TikTok.
- Maintain both channel calendars, including drafting captions and preparing assets for review and scheduling.
- Support the ideation and production of original content concepts, tailored to the way each platform works.
- Help create content briefs for internal stakeholders and external collaborators.
- Manage community interactions by replying to comments, engaging followers, and escalating issues where needed.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting by gathering data and summarising account performance.
- Carry out regular audits of content and competitors, identifying trends and opportunities for the team.
- Assist with sample handling, organisation, and general administrative tasks as required.
- Attend events and store visits to capture content with founders and creators when needed.
- Monitor platform changes, social trends, and emerging content formats, sharing relevant ideas with the team.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is creative, enthusiastic, and at the start of their social media journey. You should spend a lot of time on Instagram and TikTok, have a real interest in beauty, and be keen to help shape content for a well-known premium retailer. This placement is well suited to recent graduates, students on a placement year, or anyone looking to take their first step into social media.
