Job description

Role summary

This is a 9-month part-time contract running remotely from July 2026 through March 2027 for CMC Rocks QLD and Ridin’ Hearts. The position suits a highly organised, imaginative and digitally savvy social media and content professional who loves country music and can help shape the festival experience through social media, digital content, app updates and fan engagement.

This is a content delivery role on a part-time contract basis. You must operate through your own active ABN and have valid working rights in Australia.

Working arrangement

The role is primarily remote, although occasional office visits may be required from time to time. You will also need to be available on the ground at the festival in March. The contract is output-based, and workload will vary across the season. As a general guide, the expected commitment is:

  • About 2–3 days per week during July, August and September.
  • About 1–2 days per week during October, November and December.
  • About 3 days per week during January and February.
  • About 3 days per week at the beginning and end of March.
  • On-site in Ipswich, Queensland during March; exact dates will be confirmed during the interview process.

Campaign period responsibilities

  • Develop and tailor copy for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, email campaigns, paid social and festival app updates.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling content, campaign messaging, artist announcements, ticket launches and other key marketing milestones.
  • Produce short-form video, social assets and digital content using tools such as CapCut and Canva while working within brand guidelines.
  • Oversee community interaction across social platforms and the community inbox, replying to fans, talent and partners in a professional manner.
  • Build and refresh festival app content, including announcements, reminders, important event details and engagement activity.
  • Keep the brand voice and messaging aligned while supporting and reporting to the Marketing Manager throughout the lead-up to the festival.
  • Provide campaign support for Ridin’ Hearts as part of the role.

Festival-period responsibilities

  • Publish live social content across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, capturing important festival moments as they happen.
  • Film, edit and post short-form content quickly for reels, stories and TikToks.
  • Work with photographers, videographers, content creators and the wider marketing team to coordinate content capture.
  • Update festival app notifications with schedule changes, key announcements and operational information.
  • Manage live fan engagement across all channels, including the info inbox, during festival operating hours.
  • Support sponsor coverage, programming updates and on-site marketing delivery while reporting to the Marketing Manager.

Experience and capabilities

You should be confident writing across different digital formats and adjusting tone appropriately for social media, email, app and other online channels. Strong skills with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Canva and short-form video tools such as CapCut are important. Excellent organisation, attention to detail and time management are also essential, particularly when campaign activity or live events become busy.

You will need to be comfortable handling community conversations and responding thoughtfully to questions from fans, customers, talent and partners. Experience in music, festivals, live events, entertainment or lifestyle marketing will be viewed favourably. Being regionally based and/or a country music fan is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Fee and support provided

The contract fee is $44,000 for the part-time delivery role, inclusive of superannuation and exclusive of GST. The festival will cover return travel from your home, accommodation and meals while you are on-site at the festival, and will also cover return travel from your home plus accommodation for any occasional office visits.

Application requirements

To be considered, you must have an active ABN, valid working rights in Australia and availability across the full contract period. Applications are open from 4 July to 10 July 2026 and must include your resume, a cover letter and three content examples tailored to CMC Rocks.

  • Your cover letter should include your top three live music moments.
  • Include your go-to karaoke song in the cover letter.
  • Provide one short-form video example, such as a Reel or TikTok recap, artist spotlight or similar.
  • Provide two social tiles with captions: one aimed at selling tickets and one general feed post such as a line-up reminder or behind-the-scenes style post.
  • The examples may use existing CMC Rocks photos or video from the brand’s social channels or website; original footage is not required, only a clear demonstration of how you would present content for the brand.

Additional notes

This role will support both CMC Rocks QLD and Ridin’ Hearts. It is designed as a content delivery position rather than a traditional employment arrangement, and the workload will shift depending on the stage of the campaign and the live festival period.
