About the Role

As a Social Media and Content Creator at IKIGAI Motors AU based in Northcote, Victoria, you will manage and execute content across multiple social platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Your role involves creating engaging media that reflects a premium, craftsmanship-focused brand image with precise vehicle and compliance messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the social media content calendar to ensure timely posts across various platforms.
  • Capture and edit video footage such as vehicle walkarounds, workshop processes, detailing, deliveries, and event highlights, producing both short reels and longer videos.
  • Schedule social media posts and stories, monitor audience interactions, and quickly identify sales opportunities through comments and direct messages.
  • Maintain a consistent brand tone that conveys honesty and premium craftsmanship.
  • Design templates and simple graphics including thumbnails, stories, and promotional tiles that align with onsite signage standards.
  • Collaborate with paid social specialists by delivering creative content, captions, and trackable UTM links; conduct basic analysis of Meta platform insights.
  • Coordinate with sales and workshop teams daily to capture relevant content using standard shot lists.
  • Organize media assets, manage customer consent documentation for featured content, and ensure prompt coverage of new stock arrivals.
  • Provide weekly reports analyzing metrics like reach, saves, profile visits, and enquiry support, and adjust content formats based on performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in brand content creation, preferably in automotive or high-end retail sectors.
  • A demonstrated portfolio showcasing video and photography skills beyond simple smartphone snapshots.
  • Proficiency in community management with an understanding of reputation management.
  • Consistent reliability in publishing content and ability to follow creative direction.
  • Awareness of workshop safety practices and respect for obtaining customer consent for filming.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) and enthusiast automotive culture to aid authentic storytelling.
  • Experience using video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and photo editing tools like Lightroom or equivalents.
  • Basic knowledge of boosting posts and running simple advertisements using Meta Business Suite.

Hiring Process

  • Submit your CV, portfolio or sample works (social content, design, video, events, or campaigns), and salary expectations.
  • Participate in a phone interview to discuss your experience, local market insight, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Complete a practical assessment task related to the role, such as creating an event rundown, weekly content plan, or audience outreach draft.
  • Attend an onsite interview at Northcote to meet the team, view facilities, and confirm brand alignment.
  • Receive a formal offer that outlines your start date, work schedule, and objectives for the initial 90 days.
