About the Role
We are seeking a Social Content Writer to join our team remotely, supporting a client-facing social media program. The position involves creating compelling, industry-focused content that engages utility and construction professionals between major events. This ongoing contract begins mid-August, requiring approximately 50 hours per month with regular weekly check-ins.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft several posts weekly for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, highlighting crew spotlights, industry pride, and seasonal themes.
- Work collaboratively with an art director to ensure copy, headlines, image text, and visuals align cohesively and reflect the brand.
- Generate creative content concepts, from brief celebratory messages to detailed feature segments showcasing crew accomplishments.
- Write video scripts and related copy for features such as crew-of-the-month spotlights.
- Organize all content within Google Docs and deliver polished final copy ahead of scheduled postings.
- Adapt content for different formats and iterations, including stories and short clips, applying version control practices.
- Manage deadlines and workload independently, proactively communicating any questions to the art director and client teams.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience producing social media content for professional or trade audiences, with a portfolio demonstrating partnership with creative or art direction teams.
- Strong ability to craft visually engaging language, including compelling headlines, captions, and image text that complement design elements.
- Meticulous attention to terminology and visual details, ensuring accuracy and safety compliance.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills, capable of maintaining consistent posting schedules and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or quick learning capability of the utility, construction, or skilled trades sectors.
- Experience creating video scripts or short-form narrative content tailored for social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn content formats and tones.
- Skill in adapting and versioning content concepts across multiple formats or audience groups.
Additional Details
- Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour on a W2 basis.
