Role Overview

The Social Care Assistant position is a full-time, on-site role located in Ballina. Responsibilities include assisting individuals in residential, disability, and community care settings by supporting personal care needs, encouraging independence, and helping with daily living activities. The role demands compassionate emotional and social support, involvement in meaningful activities, and contributing to personalized care plans. Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and provide active support to individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience in caregiving, especially dementia care, emphasizing respectful, person-centered approaches to vulnerable individuals.
  • Proficiency in manual handling techniques coupled with compliance to health and safety protocols and training.
  • Possession of, or progress towards, a relevant qualification in social care, healthcare assistance, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries within healthcare and social care settings.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment, proactively respond to evolving care needs, and adapt to service requirements.
  • Prior experience within residential, disability, or community care contexts is advantageous.
