About the Role
We are seeking a SOC Analyst responsible for monitoring and defending our client's IT infrastructure against cybersecurity threats, including hackers, cyber-terrorists, and malware. This role involves evaluating current security systems for vulnerabilities and implementing improvements to safeguard both online (cloud) and on-premise digital assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first line of defense by identifying and neutralizing threats within client environments.
- Oversee the management, configuration, and monitoring of security tools, assessing incidents for urgency and escalating when necessary.
- Serve as a Tier 2 incident responder by handling serious cyber-attacks, evaluating affected systems, and gathering data for detailed analysis.
- Investigate breaches to determine root causes and prescribe remediation steps to reduce risks.
- Produce security reports to help clients assess the effectiveness of their security protocols.
- Recommend necessary security policy changes to clients to counteract attacks and enhance protection standards.
- Document incidents and support incident response and disaster recovery plans as part of managed security services.
- Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability and empowerment.
- Identify training needs, conduct performance evaluations, and develop succession plans for team growth and capability enhancement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working within a Security Operations Center, particularly in a Managed Security Services (MSS) environment.
