The Opportunity

OCL Group is hiring dependable, experienced Skilled Labourers for a project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The company is looking for people who arrive prepared to work, take pride in their contribution, and help maintain a safe job site at all times.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay under the CLAC wage structure
• Weekly pay every Friday
• Employer-matched RRSP and pension contributions
• Benefits available after 300 hours worked
• Paid training
• 10% vacation pay and statutory holiday pay on regular earnings
• Overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate after 8 hours per day

Key Duties

• Carry out assigned work in accordance with OCL standards, procedures, and industry practices
• Support tradespeople and other skilled workers as needed
• Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Handle spotting and flagging duties when required
• Review and follow site-specific instructions before each shift
• Perform site cleanup and prepare work areas
• Keep the job site and work area neat and organized
• Join daily toolbox meetings
• Complete physically demanding work in changing weather conditions
• Take on other assigned tasks as needed

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction settings
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
• Good knowledge of construction site safety and hazard awareness
• Strong physical ability to handle manual work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and working outdoors in varying weather
• Team-focused attitude with a dependable and positive work ethic
• Clear communication skills and the ability to understand and follow instructions
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s licence, and a clean driving record
• Required safety certifications: WHMIS 2015 and CSTS 2020 or an equivalent credential
• H2S Alive certification is considered an asset
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
