Role overview
This position is for a Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Investigator with Chubb Benefits, a Chubb company. What the role involves
The SIU Investigator is responsible for identifying, assessing, and helping resolve suspected insurance fraud matters. The role requires coordination across internal teams, strong case management, clear documentation, and timely escalation of issues. The investigator reports to the SIU department leader.
Key responsibilities
- Handle SIU matters and keep stakeholders updated on active investigations.
- Organize investigative work, manage priorities, and keep caseloads moving.
- Partner with Claims to design practical investigation approaches for suspicious claims.
- Build and maintain working relationships with internal business partners and guide them as needed.
- Record case actions promptly and ensure compliance with applicable local rules.
- Prepare required reporting for internal leadership and state insurance departments within required timelines.
- Support responses to regulator questions, complaints, and audit requests.
- Interview policyholders and other people connected to claims or policies by phone.
- Create investigation plans when suspicious activity or possible misrepresentation is identified.
- Escalate findings, risks, and important developments appropriately.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in insurance claims investigations, law-enforcement investigations, or economic/insurance fraud investigations.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory landscape for accident, health, and life insurance, including HIPAA, GLBA, and related privacy/data security rules.
- Strong analytical ability and comfort using data analytics to evaluate claims and fraud indicators.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships across departments.
- Consistent follow-through and a strong record of delivering results.
- Ability to juggle multiple investigations in a changing business environment.
- Hands-on experience with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and research tools.

Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this role is $57,000 to $83,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on skills and other relevant factors. The role may also qualify for a discretionary annual incentive program.
