The Tile People is a New Zealand provider of premium tile, stone, and façade systems for commercial, hospitality, infrastructure, and multi-residential projects. The business works alongside architects, designers, developers, and builders to support projects from specification through to installation, with a focus on quality outcomes, durability, and strong design results.
Role Overview
This position is for an experienced Site Supervisor to manage internal fit-out works and external façade installations across Tauranga and nearby areas. The role calls for solid hands-on site knowledge, especially in façade or cladding installation as well as internal finishing trades. You will be responsible for site coordination, supervising installers and subcontractors, tracking programme and workmanship, and making sure all work is completed safely and in line with approved drawings and project requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee day-to-day site operations for both internal and external works.
- Coordinate installers, subcontractors, and project interfaces on site.
- Monitor project progress, quality standards, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Support safe work practices and site health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with main contractors, consultants, internal teams, and trade partners.
- Manage sequencing and coordination across façade, cladding, and fit-out activities.
Experience and Technical Background
The employer is looking for someone with 5 to 8 years of experience in site supervision, fit-out, façades, cladding, or a closely related construction role. Experience handling both internal and external project scopes is preferred. You should have a practical understanding of façade systems, cladding, substructure, fixings, flashings, sealants, and installation order, along with working knowledge of internal fit-out trades such as linings, ceilings, joinery, flooring, and service coordination.
Skills and Working Style
The role suits someone who can confidently read architectural drawings, shop drawings, details, and specifications. Strong site coordination, quality assurance, health and safety, and programme management abilities are important. You should be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders including main contractors, subcontractors, installers, consultants, and internal project teams.
Location and Travel
The role is based in Tauranga and the surrounding region, with travel to the Auckland head office roughly two days each month. All required tools and support will be supplied.
