Site Logistics Operations Specialist

Meta is hiring an experienced Site Logistics Operations Specialist to take full ownership of Data Centre field and warehouse logistics execution and strategy. The position carries a high level of independence and works closely with Site Logistics Operational Leads to shape, standardise, and expand logistics practices across the wider EMEA data centre network.

This role suits someone comfortable working through ambiguity, guiding cross-functional partners without formal authority, and creating impact at scale through operational discipline, systems thinking, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

• Take ownership of end-to-end logistics activity at the assigned Data Centre and ensure every process aligns with IBOS 4S standards: Safety, Security, SOX Compliance, and Stakeholders.
• Shape the logistics operating model by defining the approach, rationale, and direction for site logistics rather than only executing assigned work.
• Coordinate third-party logistics provider leads and hold them accountable for performance in inventory accuracy, inventory movement and distribution, server rack handling, shipping and receiving, and any newly emerging needs.
• Write, improve, and maintain documentation that turns successful logistics practices into repeatable standards and policies that can be used across the organisation.
• Promote adoption of those standards across multiple sites, not just the local location.
• Spot recurring gaps and design scalable fixes that improve consistency across Meta’s global data centre portfolio.
• Work closely with internal partners such as DC Ops, Capacity Planning, Finance, Procurement, and Trade Compliance to align priorities and influence planning.
• Run the audit and compliance cadence, including monthly reviews of inventory controls, root-cause analysis for discrepancies, and SOX-aligned execution with minimal escalation.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting by anticipating issues and resolving them early.
• Act as a trusted advisor to IBOS leadership by converting business needs into practical process improvements and data-supported recommendations.
• Lead inventory reconciliation efforts to identify risk, manage obsolescence, correct errors, and build frameworks that reduce repeat issues.
• Escalate systemic field problems clearly, bringing proposed solutions and business impact analysis rather than only highlighting the issue.
• Work with field leads, vendors, and contract labour to implement new processes and guide teams through change.
• Share knowledge with peer Site Logistics Operations Specialists and help strengthen the wider team through best-practice exchange and informal leadership.
• Define and monitor KPIs that connect logistics performance and compliance to broader business outcomes, and present insights to leadership.
• Lead development of shared solutions when inconsistent practices are found across sites, building alignment and sustainable adoption.
• Approximately 10% travel is required.

Minimum qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressive experience in logistics or operations, including ownership of site-level or multi-site operations and management of third-party providers.
• A proven record of improving processes independently at scale, beyond simply following existing procedures.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, TMS, content management systems, WMS platforms such as Oracle or similar, as well as Excel and analytics tools.
• Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to turn operational detail into clear strategic messages for leadership.
• Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Preferred qualifications

• Background using Sarbanes-Oxley controls in logistics or inventory environments.
• Experience in a data centre or hyperscale infrastructure setting.
• Ability to apply AI tools to redesign workflows and deliver measurable gains in efficiency or quality.
• Experience mentoring or developing others, formally or informally.
• Exposure to business analysis, programme management, or operational excellence methods such as Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk review, bias mitigation, and quality checks.
• Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes such as Procure-to-Pay and inventory lifecycle management.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments with competing priorities and limited precedent.
• Ongoing development in AI capabilities such as prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration, along with awareness of emerging AI technologies.
• Experience leading change management in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
