Role overview
This leadership role is responsible for steering the full manufacturing operation at the Sikkim facility. The position focuses on delivering compliant, high-quality production, meeting delivery timelines, and improving overall plant performance and business outcomes.
Core responsibilities
The site head will translate business plans into production execution, ensure reliable on-time-in-full supply, and improve productivity, efficiency, and plant capacity use.
- Plan and run production activities in line with the broader business strategy.
- Maintain OTIF performance so products are delivered to customers on schedule and in full.
- Strengthen productivity, throughput, efficiency, and capacity utilization across the site.
Quality and compliance
The role carries accountability for pharmaceutical quality systems, regulatory readiness, and strict adherence to compliance requirements.
- Ensure the plant operates in line with CGMP and all applicable regulatory expectations.
- Oversee the quality management system, validations, audits, and approvals of important documents.
- Track and close deviations, OOS/OOT cases, customer complaints, and CAPA actions effectively.
Regulatory and audit leadership
This position will lead the site through inspections and audits while keeping essential documentation and validation frameworks current.
- Direct internal and external audits as well as regulatory inspections.
- Keep the Site Master File updated and ensure validation systems remain in control.
Improvement and risk management
Continuous improvement is a major part of the role, along with proactive control of operating and business risks.
- Champion risk assessment, mitigation, and continuous improvement programs.
- Improve cost effectiveness and strengthen overall operational performance.
Cross-functional coordination
The site head will work closely with several business and technical teams to ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted supply.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, QA/QC, R&D, Finance, and Procurement teams.
- Support smooth technology transfer and stable supply continuity.
Plant, EHS, and resource management
Responsibility also includes the manufacturing environment, plant readiness, and control of site resources and spending.
- Oversee EHS practices, plant hygiene, and the overall manufacturing environment.
- Manage OPEX, CAPEX, inventory, and infrastructure requirements.
People leadership
The role requires strong leadership of the site team, with focus on engagement, capability development, and effective workforce deployment.
- Lead the site leadership team and build organizational capability.
- Drive employee engagement, training, and efficient manpower utilization.

Experience and education
The preferred background includes more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, along with leadership exposure. Candidates should hold a graduation degree, and post-graduation in Engineering or Pharmacy is also required.
