Site Engineer (Electrical)

Role overview

The Site Electrical Engineer will oversee and coordinate electrical works on EPC projects involving high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations, infrastructure, and energy installations. The role focuses on making sure installation, testing, and commissioning activities are performed safely, to the approved drawings and specifications, within quality expectations, and according to the project timeline.

Key responsibilities

• Review the scope of work, general project requirements, relevant standards, technical specifications, and milestone plan before starting assigned tasks.
• Develop an execution plan and work strategy that align with the project schedule and customer expectations.
• Handle the daily supervision of electrical construction and installation work at the site.
• Verify that all activities follow approved IFC drawings, method statements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate on-site work with subcontractors, supervisors, vendors, and construction teams.
• Ensure the work is carried out in line with standards, procedures, specifications, and sound engineering practices.
• Supervise the installation of HV and MV systems such as transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, control and protection panels, cable networks, grounding systems, lighting, and related electrical equipment.
• Work closely with the execution team, supervisors, safety personnel, and QA/QC engineers.
• Track work quality and confirm compliance with approved procedures and manufacturer guidance.
• Implement quality control requirements, procedures, and guidelines, and take corrective action whenever required.
• Support QA/QC deliverables, including material inspection requests, RFIs, inspections, and related documentation.
• Make sure project HSE requirements, permit-to-work controls, and safety procedures are followed.
• Monitor site progress and share daily and weekly status reports with the Site Manager and Project Management team.
• Identify site issues, delays, and technical clashes, and help drive prompt resolution.
• Contribute to the handover and final close-out of completed project activities.

Requirements

• PMP certification is required.
• Strong leadership and people-management capability.
• Ability to inspire and guide team members.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and general computer tools.

Additional information

This position is focused on electrical site execution for EPC substation and energy projects in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The work involves direct coordination with multiple project stakeholders and requires close attention to quality, safety, progress tracking, and timely project completion.
