Job description
Role Overview
MKM Construction, a decade-old construction firm formerly known as Mittal Homes, is expanding into government tender projects and is seeking a Site Engineer based in Gurugram, India.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out civil and finishing works adhering strictly to approved drawings, Good For Construction (GFC) documents, and client specifications.
- Interpret structural, architectural, and finishing blueprints, identifying and reporting any inconsistencies prior to commencement of work.
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship to ensure first-time approval during inspections by clients or Project Management Consultants (PMC).
- Develop daily and weekly work plans, monitor progress, and manage any delays aggressively to keep the schedule on track.
- Predict material needs based on Bar Bending Schedule (BBS), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and drawings, and initiate timely procurement requests.
- Coordinate material procurement, inspect delivery for quantity and quality, control wastage, and keep accurate site stock inventories.
- Match material usage against completed work for reconciliation purposes.
- Oversee deployment, productivity, and discipline of in-house labor and subcontractor teams.
- Verify attendance records, measure subcontractor outputs, and ensure accurate certification of running bills.
- Address labor issues promptly and maintain workforce alignment with current work demands.
- Serve as the primary representative of MKM to clients, engineers, PMC, and architects on-site.
- Manage site instructions, Requests for Information (RFIs), snag lists, and inspection approvals professionally.
- Safeguard MKM's commercial interests by documenting extra works, delays, and client-caused hold-ups in writing.
- Prepare and submit detailed measurement sheets, progress reports, and photographic documentation as required.
- Maintain comprehensive site documentation including Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), measurement books, material registers, and inspection logs.
- Ensure compliance with basic safety and housekeeping standards at the site.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in managing residential or commercial building sites, preferably projects with substantial finishing components.
- Proficiency in reading drawings, estimating quantities, and handling billing and measurements.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD for viewing and markup purposes.
- Confidence in direct interactions with client engineers and consultants, with the ability to uphold MKM’s interests while maintaining positive relationships.
