Role Summary
The Site Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing daily operations at the construction site in North Bengaluru. This hands-on position includes coordinating contractors and labor, performing technical supervision, ensuring quality through various construction stages, and supporting client interactions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all daily site activities involving contractors, laborers, and vendors.
- Ensure all work aligns with approved drawings and schedules for timely completion.
- Maintain effective communication between the site and office teams.
- Conduct technical verifications such as center line markings, footing and column positioning using Total Station technology when possible.
- Confirm accuracy of levels, alignments, and dimensions during construction phases.
- Oversee proper execution of reinforced cement concrete (RCC), blockwork, plastering, and related construction tasks.
- Carry out stage-wise quality inspections including excavation, footing, PCC, reinforcement, shuttering, roof slab elements, blockwork, and plastering.
- Verify that all materials used meet the required quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain daily site progress reports and document material usage.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Assist with client site visits and clearly explain progress updates when needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of residential construction techniques.
- Basic expertise in RCC work, bar bending, blockwork, and plastering.
- Proficiency in reading AutoCAD drawings.
- Effective communication skills, preferably fluent in Kannada and basic English.
- Problem-solving aptitude applicable in dynamic site environments.
- Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering, or Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering.
Compensation and Career Growth
The salary range is ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience. Additionally, performance-based incentives are awarded based on quality workmanship, site management, and project completion efficiency. The position offers opportunities for professional advancement from Site Engineer to Senior Site Engineer and eventually Project Manager.
Additional Information
The role provides extensive exposure to residential construction projects from inception to completion, emphasizing practical learning in site management and quality control systems. The position is client-facing to a certain extent, requiring basic interaction during client visits.
