Job description

Overview

Join the Freight Components engineering and digital team at Wabtec Corporation, providing crucial support to engineering locations across Europe from Northampton, England. As a Functional PLM / Teamcenter Administrator, you will work closely with engineering, production teams, CAD administrators, and the global PLM/IT department to ensure seamless, efficient, and standardized operations of the PLM system. Your role will primarily support UK engineering units while collaborating with colleagues in France, India, the US, and other Wabtec sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver daily PLM assistance to engineering teams in the United Kingdom and United States.
  • Design, update, and manage Teamcenter queries, troubleshoot user challenges, and oversee access permissions.
  • Open and examine CAD assemblies in NX, SolidWorks, and Creo to detect missing references or corrupted data.
  • Assist in cleansing, correcting, and standardizing legacy data during multi-site migration from Windchill and Smarteam to Teamcenter.
  • Support various workflows by resolving process blockages, updating status changes, and correcting lifecycle discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with global PLM architects, CAD administrators, and data migration teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Create and maintain user manuals, best practice guides, specifications, and training resources.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing PLM tools and optimizing engineering workflows.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in Teamcenter functional support, administration, or as a PLM analyst.
  • Understanding of BMIDE concepts including workflows, queries, datasets, and lifecycle states.
  • Competence in diagnosing and troubleshooting NX, Creo, or SolidWorks assembly files.
  • Knowledge of product structure concepts such as EBOM and CadBOM.
  • Experience supporting engineering teams within industrial sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assist non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with data cleaning and experience working in multi-CAD environments is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel to the United States.
