Job description
Overview
Join nLab, a startup dedicated to making electronics accessible and engaging for both adults and teens through hands-on learning and their unique flagship product: the world's smallest electronics lab. This role involves transforming documented footage of the founders' entrepreneurial journey, including product development, Kickstarter campaigns, startup successes and challenges, and the real-life experience of running a company as a married couple, into compelling short-form videos.
Role Focus
The content blends aspects of the founder's narrative, behind-the-scenes startup life, and practical engineering education to create authentic and relatable storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover engaging stories within extensive video footage
- Spot and develop captivating hooks and highlights for videos
- Edit videos to enhance viewer retention and promote audience growth
- Transform technical and engineering themes into exciting, accessible content
- Bring creative ideas to the table beyond basic editing tasks
Who We're Seeking
Ideal candidates have demonstrated success with viral or high-impact short-form content and an ability to tell genuine, personality-driven stories. The style embraced is authentic and narrative-focused, avoiding flashy transitions, gimmicky effects, AI-generated visuals, and overly corporate productions.
Preferred Background
Experience with DIY, craft, technology, maker culture, educational content, or founder-led projects is advantageous.
Community
nLab's Instagram has grown to over 17,000 followers, and the team is eager to expand its reach further through engaging content.
