Role Overview

Harris Farm Markets is looking for a Shop Assistant to support the store team. In this role, you will help shoppers locate products, keep the store stocked and attractive, and contribute to an environment built around fresh food and great service. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided. A positive attitude, pride in your work, and an appreciation for fresh food are the main qualities needed. Many current Store Managers began their careers in this entry-level role.

Responsibilities

• Restock and rotate merchandise so displays stay full, fresh, and visually appealing
• Keep the back-of-house area tidy, structured, and operating smoothly
• Check product quality and monitor use-by dates, following FIFO practices
• Maintain well-organised shelving so customers can easily find what they need
• Offer friendly, hands-on support to customers on the shop floor
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements
• Assist the team in keeping daily store operations running efficiently

About You

The ideal candidate enjoys working with food and ideally has experience in a fresh food retail environment. You should also bring strong attention to detail, good organisational ability, the physical capability to handle manual tasks and remain on your feet, a collaborative mindset, and a solid work ethic. Flexibility is important, as the roster covers 7 days with morning and evening shifts.
