Ship Agent & Import/Export Operator

Job Overview

Join Ocean & General Maritime Agencies Ltd as an Import/Export Operator, where you will be trained to oversee the complete management of cargo shipments, from the initial booking phase through to delivery receipt by consignees. This role offers valuable hands-on experience preparing Bills of Lading, managing customs clearance, and interacting closely with customers to coordinate delivery and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Ship Agent carrying out related duties.
• Create shipment bookings accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding the collection and delivery of goods.
• Prepare and manage all requisite customs documents including Bills of Lading.
• Ensure the accuracy and timely flow of shipment information between customers and the shipping line.
• Respond to customer queries promptly and professionally.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Residency close to Rosslare or the surrounding Wexford area, or Sandyford Dublin, with a readiness to commute to Rosslare.
• Prior experience within the shipping industry is highly beneficial but not mandatory.
• Proven capability to multitask effectively in a dynamic and busy environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills, facilitating daily interactions with customers and global offices.
• A flexible and positive attitude toward work assignments.

Additional Information

• Full-time employment position.
• Work location is onsite in Rosslare, County Wexford, Ireland.
• English must be the candidate’s primary language.
• Applicants must have authorization to work in Ireland.
