Overview
As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, you will support the store manager in overseeing store operations during your scheduled shifts. This leadership role involves directing team members and managing tasks to deliver the renowned Starbucks Experience. Your focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, ensuring timely service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a welcoming and tidy store environment. Key Responsibilities
- Uphold integrity, honesty, and Starbucks’ culture, values, and mission in all actions.
- Stay composed during busy periods or unexpected situations to maintain store standards and set a positive example for the team.
- Proactively assess the store environment and customer needs to anticipate and respond effectively.
- Relay important information to the manager to enable the team to foster a "Third Place" atmosphere each shift.
- Support new employee training through positive reinforcement and considerate coaching.
- Provide the store manager with feedback regarding partner performance during shifts.
- Contribute to a supportive team atmosphere by monitoring partner morale and bringing concerns to the manager.
- Create an encouraging learning environment by giving clear, timely, and respectful feedback to improve partner skills and store operations.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by prioritizing customers and engaging with them authentically.
- Identify and meet customer needs promptly.
- Build strong relationships with team members by understanding and addressing their motivations and concerns.
- Manage store operations efficiently during your shifts.
- Carry out assigned opening and closing tasks.
- Adhere to Starbucks’ policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, security, and partner safety.
- Ensure proper cash management both personally and by monitoring the team.
- Follow up with baristas during shifts to maintain high standards of customer service.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
- Prepare quality beverages, whole bean, and food products according to recipe and presentation standards.
- Comply with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Recognize individual and team achievements using organizational tools and collaborate with the store manager to find innovative recognition methods.
- Utilize operational resources to achieve excellence in shift performance.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in customer service within retail or restaurant settings.
- Leadership skills with the ability to guide others effectively.
- Quick learner capacity.
