About the Role

Join Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor at our Store #04657 located at Dixie & Eglinton CTC in Mississauga, Ontario. You'll support the store manager in managing daily operations during your scheduled shifts, leading team members, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring customers experience Starbucks' legendary service through quality products and a welcoming environment. Beyond operational duties, you'll embody the company's values and contribute to making Starbucks a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold Starbucks' culture, values, and mission through integrity, honesty, and knowledge.
  • Maintain composure and steady leadership during busy or unexpected situations to keep store standards.
  • Be proactive in recognizing and responding to customer and store needs through constant environmental assessment.
  • Communicate relevant information to the store manager to help the team maintain the "Third Place" atmosphere every shift.
  • Support new employee training by reinforcing positive performance and providing respectful coaching as needed.
  • Offer constructive feedback on team members' performance to the store manager.
  • Monitor team morale and promptly report any concerns to the store manager to foster a positive workplace.
  • Create a learning atmosphere by delivering clear, specific, and respectful coaching to enhance operational effectiveness and partner growth.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a customer-first mindset, connecting with patrons to meet their needs.
  • Build positive relationships with team members by understanding their motivation and addressing concerns.
  • Execute all store operational tasks during assigned shifts, including organizing opening and closing duties.
  • Strictly follow Starbucks' policies and procedures concerning operations, cash handling, safety, and security to protect all partners.
  • Ensure the team adheres to proper cash management and register protocols.
  • Supervise baristas to uphold legendary customer service standards throughout each shift.
  • Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Consistently prepare quality beverages, whole bean coffee, and food items following all recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards for all products.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using organizational tools and collaborate with the store manager to identify innovative recognition methods.
  • Utilize operational tools effectively to attain excellence during each shift.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Previous customer service experience within retail or restaurant settings.
  • Ability to lead and direct team members effectively.
  • Quick learning aptitude.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with retail operational environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork capability.
