Role overview
Amazon is seeking a Shift Manager for its AMZL Operations team in Dubai. In this role, you will oversee the everyday running of a Delivery Station and guide Operations Supervisors, Operations Assistants, and Delivery Service Providers. You will also manage relationships with external agencies and track their performance.
The environment is fast-moving, highly collaborative, and closer to a start-up style than a traditional large-company setup. Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day functioning of the Amazon Logistics delivery station.
- Support the team by planning labour, running meetings, allocating tasks, and keeping operations organised.
- Track performance metrics closely, identify root causes quickly, and use insights to improve outcomes.
- Develop straightforward, practical solutions to complex issues while maintaining quality and essential functionality.
- Use strong problem-solving and communication skills to work with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Assist with the introduction and rollout of new systems and processes, and collect feedback from the team.
- Use software and hardware tools consistently to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Make sure team members have the equipment they need and arrange repairs or replacements when required.
- Share daily metrics and highlight any exceptions or issues.
Working requirements
- You must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include shifts, weekends, nights, and public holidays.
- Experience with performance measurement, process improvement, or lean methods is preferred.
