About the Role

The Shift Leader role involves overseeing shifts and specific work areas within a Papa John's restaurant, ensuring that high-quality products and excellent customer service contribute to overall restaurant profitability. This position handles the management of daily operations, including enforcing company policies, procedures, programs, and systems, alongside ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow established guidelines for all preparation stations, including dough handling, accuracy in portioning, and adherence to product holding times while producing high-quality menu items.
- Support achieving company product objectives by meeting or exceeding customer expectations, minimizing complaints, and responding effectively to customer service needs.
- Demonstrate core company values, maintain a positive attitude, collaborate effectively with team members, and show flexibility in adapting to change.
- Ensure sufficient staff coverage during shifts, deliver prompt feedback and problem resolution, maintain standards for product quality, customer service, and operational performance including cleanliness and cost management.
- Contribute toward profitability targets by managing food and labor costs within company guidelines using the FOCUS system; assist with inventory control to reduce loss; perform accurate cash handling.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Certification such as Serv-Safe or relevant local/state food service certification is desirable.
- Prior experience as a shift leader in a restaurant environment is advantageous.
- Consistent and stable previous employment history is preferred.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work extended hours (typically over 32 hours weekly), including evenings, weekends, and emergency shifts as needed.
- Capable of performing all restaurant position duties successfully.
