Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a diligent and proactive Shift Incharge to oversee the warehouse operations specifically handling automotive parts and components within assigned shifts. The ideal candidate must ensure smooth operations, adherence to established processes, and optimal efficiency aligned with automotive industry benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound workflow, including unloading shipments, storing goods, picking, packing, and dispatching automotive parts.
- Coordinate shift schedules, plan manpower deployment, and allocate tasks effectively.
- Monitor operations in real-time to prevent delays and maintain a seamless material flow.
- Supervise the handling of automotive components such as fasteners, electrical parts, body parts, and assemblies, ensuring correct labeling, packaging, and storage per Standard Operating Procedures and industry guidelines.
- Implement inventory management strategies like FIFO and FEFO and ensure traceability of all parts.
- Lead and manage a team comprising warehouse associates, forklift operators, and pick-pack personnel during shifts.
- Conduct shift briefings, assign responsibilities, and promote discipline and adherence to safety regulations.
- Provide training to new employees on operational procedures and safety standards.
- Ensure precise documentation and system updates through Warehouse Management Systems or ERP, supporting activities such as cycle counts, bin audits, and reconciliations.
- Maintain comprehensive reports and shift handover notes for continuity between shifts.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment, and promptly report any incidents or equipment issues.
- Uphold clean and organized workplace standards following 5S methodology.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate or Diploma holder in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience managing warehouse operations, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proficient in using WMS or ERP systems and barcode scanning tools.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work in rotational shift patterns.
Desirable Skills
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-volume warehouse settings.
- Knowledge of lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
