Work Schedule & Compensation
- Work schedule: 1st shift only, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4/10 schedule).
- Pay range for Fabricator: $23.00 to $30.50 per hour.
- Pay range for Senior Fabricator: $23.00 to $33.63 per hour.
Role Summary
Fabricators at various experience levels perform tasks in aircraft float assembly and fabrication, with the complexity increasing as experience and training grow. This position does not involve welding.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out basic fabrication and assembly tasks based on blueprints or sample parts under supervision.
- Shape materials to specifications, operate hand and other equipment to assemble parts.
- Inspect parts for cleanliness and defects.
- Communicate progress, issues, and workload to the Production Supervisor.
- Log work details using ERP software and finalize work orders for assembly stages.
- Adhere to FAA compliance procedures.
As a Senior Fabricator, additional duties include selecting raw materials, guiding less experienced staff, interpreting detailed specifications, performing complex fabrication, inspecting assemblies, maintaining traceability of materials, and utilizing jigs or fixtures for precise assembly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Physical Requirements
- Preferred education: high school diploma or GED; Senior Fabricators preferably have a technical diploma or equivalent.
- Fabrication and assembly experience preferred; seniors require a minimum of three years of related experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools and metal shop tasks.
- Ability to lift/move items frequently between 10 to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity with hand and power tools such as files, hammers, snips, sanders, drills, riveters, and grinders.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed throughout the workday.
- Visual requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Competency in basic arithmetic with decimals and fractions.
- Ability to follow instructions and resolve routine standardized problems.
- Willingness to learn safe and proper use of fabrication tools and equipment.
- Compliance with FAA and other regulatory standards is mandatory.
- Demonstrated teamwork, flexibility in priorities, and a positive, supportive attitude.
