Overview
This role is for a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Specialist in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The position starts with ChampionX and, following the acquisition completed by SLB on July 16, 2025, employment will move to SLB as part of the planned integration.

Key Accountabilities
- Promote and enforce safety practices to maintain a secure workplace and advance the Goal Zero mindset across plant operations, including design, development, manufacturing, storage, marketing, distribution, use, and disposal of chemical products.
- Support the quality improvement process by encouraging right-first-time performance and a continuous-improvement approach.
- Monitor safe work practices, proper equipment use, and compliance with quality and SHE procedures while identifying ways to strengthen workplace safety.
- Ensure alignment with local regulations and company SHE standards in Saudi Arabia.
- Prepare and submit required government and corporate SHE reports, including incident and injury management documentation, and coordinate with relevant agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Support the site Business Continuity Plan and assist management with the Crisis Management Plan.
- Oversee SHE training plans, including the delivery of training required by company policy, customer expectations, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain understanding of SHEQ management system requirements and ensure records are updated and retained appropriately.
- Implement and maintain SHEQ documentation in line with local environmental, health, and safety rules.
- Plan and conduct internal and external audits for integrated management systems.
- Help ensure continued compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certification requirements.
- Apply case management practices for work-related injuries and ensure reasonable accommodations are addressed for non-work-related injuries where needed.
- Lead incident and injury investigations and prepare analyses of incident causes and occupational hazards for internal use.
- Inspect facilities to identify actual or potential health and safety risks, recommend corrective or preventive actions, and verify completion.
- Represent the organization in community or industry safety forums and programs.
- Oversee the industrial hygiene program for company personnel.
- Manage contractor qualification, evaluation, and safety activities.
- Support or lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
- Compile SHEQ metrics and incident data, and prepare monthly reports.
- Handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Carry out additional tasks as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Diploma in occupational health and safety.
- At least 3 years of experience in the oil and gas or manufacturing sector.
- Background in internal auditing and maintaining ISO standards, documentation, and related requirements.
- Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn internal business systems.
- Good English communication skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Previous work history that shows a solid work ethic and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
