Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated sessional lecturers to join our teaching team at our lively Haymarket campus, located near Central Station in Sydney. Available shifts include morning, afternoon, and evening, with particular emphasis on evening availability seekers. Reporting to the Head of School, you will be responsible for delivering engaging teaching and assessment to students, contributing to their academic growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct teaching within your discipline area using both on-campus and online teaching methods.
  • Promote active student engagement and provide consultation support, communicating any student concerns to the Head of Faculty.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of course content.
  • Participate regularly in subject forums and educational discussions to maintain high standards.
  • Assess and mark student work within set deadlines and according to academic standards.
  • Engage in moderation and benchmarking activities as requested.
  • Attend faculty meetings and provide student consultations as necessary.
  • Contribute to scholarly practice and professional development activities.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Possess a PhD or master's degree relevant to Early Childhood Education.
  • Have at least 2 years of practical experience in a related field, with a preference for candidates having over 5 years.
  • Prior teaching or tutoring experience is advantageous.
  • Understand higher education frameworks and industry standards.
  • Stay updated with developments in the discipline and demonstrate ongoing commitment to professional growth, research, or scholarship relevant to teaching and learning.
  • Show strong enthusiasm for education and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to complete a National Crime Check if required.
