About the Role
Located in Māngere, this position is an excellent opportunity to become part of our close-knit Drainage Team. Your expertise will make a daily impact through a diverse hands-on role, working both independently and collaboratively. You will develop your skills across various drainage services including maintenance, repair, and fault investigation.
- Remove blockages and clean drainage pipes using high-pressure jetting and vacuum loading methods.
- Perform both reactive and scheduled maintenance on pump stations.
- Engage in civil works, such as pipe repairs and manhole replacements.
- Utilize CCTV technology to investigate drainage faults and diagnose problems.
- Respond to emergency call-outs, providing essential service to the community.
Representation of Watercare in the community is vital; you will foster positive relationships through professionalism and effective communication.
Who You Are

- Hold a full New Zealand driver’s license, with Class 2 preferred.
- Be willing to participate in a standby rotation, supported by your team.
- Have experience in utilities, drainage, or similar practical fields.
- Be confident with hand tools and outdoor practical tasks.
- Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and a strong safety commitment.
- Possess excellent communication skills and enjoy delivering outstanding service.
