Overview

Are you passionate about electricity, mechanics, and hydraulics? Join us as a Service Technician and play a vital role in maintaining wind turbines that contribute to a renewable energy future. This position offers an opportunity to apply your technical skills with a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, supported by comprehensive training programs and a strong focus on safety integrated into all daily operations.

Work Locations and Hours

  • Positions are located across various regional sites in Australia including Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton (WA), Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier (SA), Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale (VIC), Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes (NSW), Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton (QLD), Musselroe, Granville Harbour (TAS).
  • This is not a fly-in fly-out role; candidates must reside in the relevant region.
  • Working hours are 8 hours per day with on-call duties approximately once every 3 to 4 weeks on weekends.
  • Travel demands amount to about 50 days per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to safety and environmental standards while achieving service objectives.
  • Perform regular inspections and servicing of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components per company protocols.
  • Ensure turbines operate smoothly using condition monitoring and remote control systems.
  • Manage service vehicle and warehouse inventory, ordering necessary materials, tools, and parts.
  • Assemble and service components using appropriate equipment, including cranes if needed.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulics with eagerness to further develop expertise.
  • Proficient computer skills, capable of using various tools and software for work monitoring and documentation.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Capability to climb wind turbines and perform physically demanding work in diverse weather.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple sites as required.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
  • Solution-focused, independent, and well-organized in approach.
