Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated leader to serve as a Service Manager at the Auckland District Court within the Criminal jurisdiction. This permanent full-time position reports to the Manager of Justice Services (Auckland Central) in the Criminal section. The position focuses on mentoring and supporting staff to enhance their skills while fostering a culture grounded in high performance, operational quality, and consistency across the team and broader Service Delivery Area.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, motivated people manager who excels at leading diverse teams. They will build and maintain strong, effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and spearhead a culture of high standards, consistency, and accountability, all aligned with values of respect, integrity, service, and excellence. The role requires resilience and confidence, particularly in a public-facing environment.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in operational management.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to inspire and guide staff toward achieving goals and recognizing their role within the broader organization.
  • Demonstrated success in driving and supporting business and process improvements.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced setting involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and nurture stakeholder relationships and motivate team members.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is NZD 99,208 to NZD 135,539 annually. Final remuneration will depend on skills and experience, with flexibility within the band to attract highly qualified candidates.
